Join us for a roundtable discussion with the authors of three new books: Chloe Ireton (UCL), author of Slavery & Freedom in Black Thought in the Early Spanish Atlantic (2024); Miranda Spieler (American University of Paris), Slaves in Paris: Hidden Lives and Fugitive Histories (2025); and Richard Taws (UCL), Time Machines: Telegraphic Images in Nineteenth-Century France (2025). The discussion will be introduced by Jagjeet Lally and chaired by Emmanuela Wroth (Cambridge).
This roundtable discussion is part of the Centre of Transnational and Global History’s 2024-25 event series on ‘Displacement’ and follows a workshop on ‘Displacement and the French Revolution’. There is a separate sign-up for the workshop.
