Dr Ilaria Bultrighini received her BA in Cultural Heritage Studies, specialising in Archaeology (2005, highest grade, con lode) from Carlo Bo University of Urbino, MA in Archaeology (2008, highest grade, con lode) from Sapienza University of Rome, and PhD in Ancient History and Archaeology (2012, with additional certification of Doctor Europaeus) from G. d'Annunzio University of Chieti-Pescara.
Her doctoral dissertation, Demi attici della paralia, explores a number of coastal demes of Attica by analysing the epigraphic, archaeological, and literary evidence connected to them, with a special emphasis on the epigraphic documentation.
In 2012/2013 Dr Bultrighini was a joint fellow of the Center for Hellenic Studies (Harvard University) and the Deutsches Archäologisches Institut (Berlin), before joining the Department of Hebrew and Jewish Studies at UCL in September 2013, where she is research associate in Ancient History and works as a member of a team on the ERC-funded project Calendars in Late Antiquity and the Middle Ages: standardization and fixation, directed by Professor Sacha Stern.
