IHE & IoO workshop: Engineering solutions to ophthalmology's clinical challenges

UCL Institute of Healthcare Engineering (IHE) & Institute of Ophthalmology (IoO) are hosting a workshop to bring ophthalmologists, scientists and healthcare engineers together to explore healthcare challenges that could be solved through the application of engineering technologies.

The event will provide a forum to explore how healthcare engineering developments in imaging, medical devices, AI and computational modelling, biomaterials, cell therapy and robotics, amongst others, can contribute to fundamental and translational research in ophthalmology, with eventual impact in clinical practice and patient care.

There will be the opportunity to sign up to a tour of the IoO before the workshop. Limited places are available so please do register an expression of interest for this tour by emailing healthcare-eng@ucl.ac.uk.

- Interdisciplinary roundtable discussions

17:00 – 18:00: Drinks and networking

Following the event, a fully-funded IHE-IoO PhD studentship will be made available. The application process for this will be discussed during the workshop. There will be support made available for projects arising out of this workshop to move forward, including facilitation from the IHE’s R&D Manager.
