UCL Global Healthcare Engineering Symposium

This July, the UCL Institute of Healthcare Engineering is hosting the UCL Global Healthcare Engineering Symposium, with co-partners UCL Institute of Global Health, UCL IRDR Centre for Digital Public Health in Emergencies (dPHE) and Wellcome/EPSRC Centre for Interventional and Surgical Sciences (WEISS).

The symposium will bring together UCL researchers in global health and healthcare technologies to share experiences, opportunities and challenges. 

The day will include case-studies of global healthcare engineering research at UCL, talks from international speakers, and workshop sessions which will take a deeper dive into the unique practical challenges and funding landscape facing global projects.

10.05 – 10.30: Keynote - 'The Global Health Landscape' - Prof Ibrahim Abubakar, Director of UCL Institute of Global Health

10.30 – 11.00: Keynote 2 - 'Case-study of collaboration: UCL-India' including speakers from Public Health Foundation of India and All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS, New Delhi), chaired by Prof Monica Lakhanpaul, Pro Vice Provost South Asia

Image competition

It’s time to get creative! We’re holding a competition to find the best research image on the topics of global health and global healthcare engineering.

We want to see images that are a direct result of your research, represent aspects of your work, or show the faces behind your research project.

Images will be judged on their quality, visual impact, creativity and ability to communicate and engage people with your research.

To enter, send your photo to healthcare-eng@ucl.ac.uk along with:

  • Your name
  • Affiliation
  • Title and brief description (50 words max.)

There is no limit on the number of images you may submit.

Deadlines: Image entries close 1 July. 

A £150 prize will be awarded for best research image at the networking drinks.
