Applications for 2019-20 are being accepted and will be reviewed after 6 May 2019.

The EPSRC CDT in Intelligent, Integrated Imaging In Healthcare (i4health) accepts applications from those who wish to receive a funded scholarship, those whom already have a funded scholarship from another source and those whom are self-paying. Information about the funding available is given below for guidance only. For your eligibility to be assessed, you must complete an application to UCL. 

In all cases, our Entry Requirements below must be met in order for your application to be considered by the board.

COURSE ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

Required Qualifications

  • Have achieved (or are predicted) a first class or upper second class honours undergraduate degree (or equivalent international qualifications or experience). An MSc is also preferred, though not essential.
  • Our preferred subject areas are Physical Sciences (Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics and Physics). Applicants with degrees in Chemistry or Life Sciences are welcome but applicants must be able to demonstrate strong mathematical skills.
  • Applicants should have a demonstrated interest in medical imaging.
  • Applicants whose first language is not English are usually required to provide evidence of proficiency in English by UCL. Further details can be found on the following UCL web page

Funding

The EPSRC CDT in Medical Imaging accepts applications from:

  • Those who wish to receive a funded scholarship
  • Those whom already have a funded scholarship from another source
  • Self-paying applicants (proof of funds will be required during the application process)
    Please note that the EPSRC funding available supports Home/EU students with standard research council restrictions. EU students are only eligible for a full studentship if they have lived, worked or studied within the UK for 3 years prior to the funding commencing. More information can be found on the EPSRC website.

International students (Overseas Fee Payers) & EU students who do not meet the EPSRC criteria.

Overseas Fee Payers and EU applicants who do not fall into the above residency category are encouraged to view the Named Projects available on this website. Advertised PhD programmes available with a named project are more likely to be open to EU applicants and on occasion overseas fee payers. Please do still check the criteria within the adverts. If you wish to be considered for the MRes + PhD please enter ‘Medical Imaging’ into the search box on the UCL application page and select ‘MRes: Medical Imaging’, (Medical Physics and Biomedical Engineering) 

What’s provided? 

Fees: UK/EU fees for 3 or 4 years depending on project Stipend: At least £17,280 tax free stipend + UK/EU fees. Project related consumable and travel funds.
