Research Infrastructure Delivery Group

The Research Infrastructure Delivery Group (RIDG) brings together the breadth of knowledge, expertise, and experience of its members to help develop research capacity and capability within the IHE.

It can be a challenge understanding the complex research services landscape at UCL and keeping up to date with changes implemented by the Transforming Our Professional Services (TOPS) Research and Innovation Support Transformer (RIST) programme.

The interdisciplinary and interdepartmental background of the members of the RIDG allows us to create a joined-up approach to problem-solving and information provision within the IHE and will help researchers with navigating this complex space. We will connect with this larger programme of transformation work that will benefit the IHE and the wider UCL system.

A breathing aid that can help keep Covid-19 patients out of intensive care, adapted by our engineers at UCL and clinicians at UCLH working with Mercedes-AMG HPP, is now being used in over 150 NHS hospitals. The designs have been made freely available for international use and have now been downloaded by over 1900 teams in 105 countries - we are now supporting these teams to manufacture locally.
