Professor Ibrahim Abubakar is UCL's Pro-Provost (Health) and leads the Health Partnerships Team. He is also the Dean of the Faculty of Population Health Sciences. As Pro-Provost (Health), Professor Abubakar provides senior academic leadership for UCL’s work with its health partners, in coordination with our Faculties. Professor Abubakar is a world leading scholar in the field of infectious disease epidemiology, joined UCL in 2012 as Professor of Infectious Disease Epidemiology, and became Director of the Institute of Global Health in 2016. He has also served as Vice-Dean (International and External Engagement) for the Faculty of Population Health Sciences before becoming Dean in 2021.
