NIHR Reproductive Health and Childbirth Research Champions Symposium

On Monday 17th March 2025, the NIHR Reproductive Health and Childbirth Research Champions Symposium took place in Manchester, bringing together leading experts to explore key themes in reproductive health and childbirth research. Lois, our unit administrator, and Verity, our unit manager, were in attendance as exhibitors. They set up a stall showcasing summaries of the four research projects currently being conducted by the unit, providing an opportunity to engage with attendees, discuss the unit’s work, and raise awareness about upcoming opportunities for Public and Patient Involvement (PPI).

Throughout the day, the symposium featured a mix of keynote speeches, breakout sessions, and networking opportunities. Topics ranged from the inclusion of underserved communities in research to addressing gaps in knowledge, such as the effects of pregnancy on heart health. Lois and Verity enjoyed interacting with fellow attendees, sharing insights on the unit’s exciting projects, and contributing to the wider conversation on improving reproductive health and childbirth outcomes through research.
