The National Institute of Health and Care Research (NIHR) Policy Research Unit in Reproductive Health (RH-PRU) co-Directors, Dr Jennifer Hall and Professor Judith Stephenson, were delighted to be invited to attend the inaugural Women’s Health Summit on 17th January 2024, hosted by the Department of Health and Social Care, at the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists.

Professor Dame Lesley Regan, who was appointed as the Women’s Health Ambassador in 2022, opened the event with a summary of progress made against the Women’s Health Strategy for England, which was launched in July 2022.  The Health and Social Care Secretary Victoria Atkins, then laid out the government’s priorities for women’s health in 2024, which included menstrual conditions and women’s health hubs; both areas of focus for the RH-PRUgg

In the afternoon, Dr Hall and Dr Beck Taylor, co-lead for the RH-PRU Models of Care theme and lead of the Commissioning for Women’s Reproductive Health Across the Life Course project, introduced the RH-PRU to Women’s Health Champions from across the country.
