Paula is a Senior Lecturer at the School of Architecture (Federal University of Minas Gerais, Brazil). Her research focuses on human-environment relationships and the role of urban design in creating more equitable, stimulating and health-giving urban public open spaces. Her research interests and activities focus on evidence-based approaches to the design of socially responsive urban open spaces. Her thesis develops new ways of looking at the relationships between people and urban environments to give a deeper understanding of how people experience urban open spaces.
