ACCELERATE Innovation Team Challenge
This eight-week hands on training programme will see you apply knowledge and skills to develop a proposal to solve a real-life translational research challenge of your choosing in an interdisciplinary team. At the end of the programme there will be a chance to bid for up £10,000 or non-financial support to take your team’s proposal forward.
Deadline to apply is Tuesday 19th September 2023.

Building a More Effective Leadership Style Workshop
Friday 6th October, 10am-1pm online. Identify the behaviours that you need to build your own leadership style and develop open and honest relationships with your team.

Developing Emotional Intelligence as a Leader Workshop
Wednesday 11th October, 1pm-4pm, in person on UCL Bloomsbury Campus. Increase self-awareness of your emotions, consider behaviours and habits that will improve your teams productivity.

Lead with an Intrapreneurial Mindset Workshop
Monday 16th October, 1pm-4pm, in person on UCL Bloomsbury Campus. Learn how to take the initiative, use processes that an entrepreneur might use to be an effective research leader and develop productive and inclusive conversations with stakeholders.

Building Collaborative Research Relationships Across Teams Workshop
Monday 23rd October, 1pm-4pm, in person on UCL Bloomsbury Campus. Learn how to put together a research collaboration by considering what you need in place to maximise the value of the partnership, whether it is an internal or external collaboration.

Innovation in Research Workshop
Monday 30th October, 10am-11:30am, online. Plan and design a work environment for innovation to flourish within your research group, and understand what creativity and innovation is in the context of research.

Exploring Enterprise Creation Workshop
Tuesday 7th November, 10am-4:30pm, in person on UCL Bloomsbury Campus. Learn to understand market influences, develop and communicate a business proposition and recognise enterprise challenges.

Translating your Research for a Non-Academic World (1.5 day course)
Wednesday 11th November, and Friday 17th November. Explore your own enterprising skills and how they relate to translating academic research for a non-academic audience. Learn how to develop ideas that create value and make a difference to others, and pitch yourself and your research effectively to others.
