In this special UCL200‑themed podcast episode, hosts Professor Rochelle Burgess and Dr Xand van Tulleken will explore the history of public health at UCL and consider what it can teach us about the health challenges of today and tomorrow. Drawing on stories from UCL’s archives, the conversation will reveal how progress in public health has rarely been smooth or uncontested, but instead driven by disruption, challenge and resistance.

Recorded in front of a live audience, this event offers a rare chance to be part of the podcast recording itself and hear directly from leading thinkers.

About Public Health Disrupted

Now in its sixth season, Public Health Disrupted is a podcast all about the systems that need disrupting to make public health better.

Hosts Xand and Rochelle work with exceptional guests to break down disciplinary, sectoral and geographic boundaries to really understand the diverse and complex issues impacting our health.

Throughout six seasons, we’ve been joined by activists, scholars, artists, comedians, industry professionals (and more!) to offer perspectives from the UCL community and beyond. Join us as we challenge the status quo of the public health field, asking what needs to change, why and how to get there.
