The Academic Careers Office is partnering with the Health of the Public ECN to host a virtual event on 22 June as part of the ADAPT to Thrive event series on failure and resilience.
By sharing the experiences of researchers at different career stages, the ADAPT to Thrive event series provides early career researchers with support by showcasing how failure and success walk hand in hand.
ADAPT to Thrive will:
- Normalise speaking out about failure and reducing stigma.
- Help build a more resilient academic community by facilitating conversations and allowing early and mid-career researchers to find support networks.
- Shift the perception of risk and encourage early career researchers to take new approaches to their careers and pursue unconventional ideas.
Speakers:
• Prof Rob Aldridge, Professor of Public Health Data Science
• Dr Marcella Ucci, Associate Professor in Environmental and Healthy Buildings
• Dr Jenny Woodman, Associate Professor in Child and Family Policy
The three talks will be followed by audience questions.
ADAPT to Thrive was launched by UCL in 2018 and you can watch clips of previous talks on the scheme’s website - https://www.adapttothrive.co.uk/our-stories/. You can also follow the discussions and share your own stories on #FailtoThrive
