This post is within an exciting scientific network of collaborators using electronic health records (EHR), together with genomics and other -omics to implement novel methods that enable the precision medicine agenda. In particular the post-holder will concentrate in the use of various resources available at the Institute of Health Informatics to work the re-definition of disease phenotypes using either EHR in a data-driven manner or multi-omics. The post-holder will play a role in performing analyses within a UCL-GSK collaboration on the uses of EHR, genomics and other -omics to improve drug discovery and validation at GSK. This post-holder will also play a role in performing analyses for the British Women Health and Heart Study (BWHHS), using EHR and proteomic data. Our team at UCL plays leading roles in Health Data Research UK (HDR UK), in multi-omic cohorts such as UCLEB, in Biomedical Research Centre initiatives to embed genomic information in clinical care, and in international consortia. Key requirements You will have a PhD in Medical Statistics, Epidemiology, Genetic Epidemiology or similar with a keen interest in applications on complex statistical and computational models to the analysis of EHR data. You are comfortable in the development of statistical tools software tools (R, STATA), running applications in large computer clusters. Experience in the analysis of genetic data, statistical genetics methods, epidemiology and bioinformatics would be advantageous. Experience of accessing, curating, analysing and interpreting EHR data from diverse sources is an advantage; however, for candidates without this expertise, in-post training will be available.
