Research Fellow – Medical Statistician - Ref:1785784

Duties and Responsibilities

Using longitudinal EHR phenotype information, the post-holder will be expected to plan and execute analyses and visualise and interpret the results for communication to clinical and scientific audiences. The precise focus will be developed, based on matching the scientific opportunity with the skills and experience of the post-holder.

This post is funded for one year until March 2020 in the first instance, and suitable candidates will be supported in applications for fellowships.

Key Requirements

You will have an PhD in Medical Statistics, Epidemiology, Genetic Epidemiology or similar with a keen interest in applications on complex statistical and computational models to the analysis of EHR data. You are comfortable in the development of statistical tools software tools (R, STATA), running applications in large computer clusters.  Experience in the analysis of genetic data, statistical genetics methods, epidemiology and bioinformatics would be advantageous. Experience of accessing, curating, analysing and interpreting EHR data from diverse sources is an advantage; however, for candidates without this expertise, in-post training will be available.

We place a strong emphasis on supporting career development and on the potential for independence.  You will be jointly supervised by Dr Dionisio Acosta, Dr Reecha Sofat and Dr Rui Providencia at the Institute of Health Informatics.
