Teaching and Training

Teaching and training programmes from the UCL Hazard Centre.

We currently run two postgraduate taught programmes; an MSc in Geophysical Hazards and a postgraduate certificate course in Natural Hazards for Insurers. We also deliver bespoke training on topics of risk associated with natural hazards and natural resource exploitation and management.

MSc Geophysical Hazards

MSc Geophysical Hazards

Our MSc Geophysical Hazards programme investigates the processes that turn natural events into hazards, from volcanic eruptions, earthquakes and landslides to floods, tsunamis and hurricanes.

PG Cert Natural Hazards for Insurers

Postgraduate Certificate Natural Hazards for Insurers

This programme is designed specifically to provide those working in the insurance or other risk financial sector with the tools required to make more informed decisions in their day-to-day encounters with natural hazards, exposure and loss.

We provide bespoke training to non-academic professionals working in risk associated with natural hazards. 

PhD Projects:

As part of UCL Earth Sciences, members of the Hazard Centre also oversee PhD projects and supervise students.
