GSEC is organised by the University College London Mechanical Engineering Society (UCL MES).  They aim to convene engineering students to foster the exchange of ideas and knowledge, for them to make a positive impact in their communities.

The 2017 inaugural edition of the conference is centred on the theme of Sustainable Cities.

Rapid urbanisation in recent years has seen energy demand increasing to unprecedented levels. The need to better manage resources points to cities as hubs for developing smart and sustainable solutions, that help meeting current consumption levels. However, these must be developed without compromising on the quality of living for future generations.

The conference will help you answer the question:

" ‘‘How would you make your city the sustainable city of the future?’’
"

Through a series of guest lectures, workshops and industry visits, we provide a valuable opportunity for discussion about challenges, trends and solutions across various cities.

During the conference, delegates will select to specialise in one of the following four conference tracks: Building Design, Energy, Public Infrastructure & Transport.
