Reflect your Future is a campaign that educates students on how to lead healthy, sustainable lives, without breaking the bank and without compromising on style.
Do you live in halls? Are you interested in Sustainability? Would you like to win some awesome prizes?
Your future is in your hands and everything you do now will reflect your future.
Learn new skills
Throughout the year, Reflect your Future will host a variety of events in halls (such as bike-powered cinemas and vegetarian cooking lessons), to encourage you to think about topics of sustainability. Each event has been designed to teach you essential living skills, such as cooking and saving money. See our events section below to attend our events.
Win up to £1,500!
As part of the campaign, we will run three inter-hall competitions, with £250 up for grabs for each competition.* At the end of the year UCL’s halls will be entered into a national competition, where the hall that has had the biggest engagement wins £1,500 of spending money.** Last year UCL won the competition! This year Reflect your Future will focus on food, energy and fashion.
Enhance your CV
Events will be run by Student Sustainability Ambassadors, who will be trained in sustainability engagement and will have the opportunity to undertake their own sustainability project in halls.
If you’re passionate amount making UCL’s halls more sustainable, and their 3,000+ residents, become a Sustainability Ambassador. Throughout the year UCL and the University of London’s sustainability teams will mentor you, as you create, plan, manage and realise your own sustainability project. Students can work in teams together on their projects.
The programme will be recognised on your Higher Education Achievement Report. Meaning the project management experience you’ll gain as a Sustainability Ambassador will help you stand out to employers once you graduate.
To become a Sustainability Ambassador, see the Sustainability Ambassador Role Description (below), and register to attend the Sustainability Ambassador Summit.
