Combat Climate Change, win prizes.
From Thursday 15th November – Friday 7th December, all of UCL’s halls competed to reduce their Carbon Emissions. The hall that made the biggest reduction won a £250 prize budget to spend in their halls.
How did we work out the winner?
The hall that achieved the biggest carbon saving compared to the carbon they emitted in the same period last year won. The figures were normalised to take account of weather variations between the two periods.
Carbon savings are calculated by multiplying the energy saved with 2018 UK Greenhouse Gas conversion factors - find out how here.
Congratulations to Goldsmid House for winning the competition and making the biggest reductions in their carbon emissions!
