Prof Dave Goulson (University of Sussex), Dr Seirian Sumner (UCL), Richard Walton (UCL) and Bronwen Hopkins (UCL Beekeeping Society) will be joining us to talk all things insect.
In 2017 an all-woman crew sailed around the whole of the British Isles, sampling the waters for plastics and toxics to highlight the issue of plastic pollution and our part in it. A screening of the eXXpedition Sky Ocean Rescue documentary (45 mins), A Plastic Voyage will be followed by a Q&A panel discussion between eXXpedition crew members and an artist working with marine debris. The panel will discuss approaches to tackling the damage caused to the world’s oceans by plastics and associated chemicals, and talk about their experiences of being a women in STEM.
Brian Lewarne, The Director of the Proteus Project will be joining us to talk about the exciting worlds underground in Bosnia. Including details of the elusive Olm and how you can get involved, either as a volunteer or by doing your dissertation out in the beautiful wilderness of Bosnia.
