Disability Innovation Prize Workshop 2017
PhD students from UCL and Loughborough University together with researchers and PhD students from London College of Fashion, were invited to apply for places at a two day Disability Innovation Prize Workshop held in July 2017.
The workshop explored co-design, collaboration, and innovation with the aim of changing the way we think about disability. Disabled people's organisations, practitioners, academics, NGOs and local community organisations all contributed to the workshop.
PhD student teams proposed cross-disciplinary solutions that directly focused on disability, under the themes of:
- Inclusive Design
- Assistive Technology
- Disability Inclusive International Development
- Corporate Social Responsibility
- Inclusive Arts & Design
- Disability Sport
Workshop attendees were competing for the Disability Innovation Prize - funding of up to £10,000 for the most outstanding and innovative solutions.
