Mental Health & Wellbeing Early Career Training and Development [closed]
Funding of up to £2,000 is now available to support training grants from early career researchers and scholars under the theme of Mental Health & Wellbeing.
21 December 2023
The Grand Challenge of Mental Health & Wellbeing welcomes applications for training grants from early career researchers and scholars. We will consider funding of up to £2,000 to support travel to and attendance of workshops and training courses. The training should enable early career researchers and scholars to gain crucial skills that they can apply to mental health wellbeing research.
The focus is on basic and applied research skills that can be used to accelerate intervention discovery - a key priority for the Grand Challenge of Mental Health and Wellbeing. We define intervention as any systematic effort to bring about an improvement in the mental health and/or wellbeing of individuals or groups of individuals. Both basic and applied academic work that is critical for helping us find more effective ways to promote wellbeing and mental health will be considered and we strongly encourage applications from across the different UCL faculties.
Applicants should submit a proposal of no more than 500 words detailing the training they are proposing, highlighting its relevance for accelerating intervention discovery, either immediately or in the longer term. This proposal should be followed by an itemised breakdown of the costs that the application would cover.
- Funding
Applications for support up to £2,000 will be considered under this call. Due to the UCL fiscal year end, all funding must be spent, and expenses must be identified and invoiced, by 31st July 2024.
- How to Apply

Please Note: Applications must be made using the online system. Emailed applications will not be accepted.
