We believe that solving the climate crisis requires more than good ideas — it demands experimentation, collaboration, and bold institutional change.

Committed to this mission, we launched our first Living Lab earlier this year under the Climate Crisis theme. This was a great way to use UCL’s own campus as a testbed for sustainability solutions.

The first living lab offered a unique opportunity to bring together researchers, students, and professional services staff to co-create interventions that bridge the gap between insight and implementation.

As we can already see promising results, we’re just getting started and excited to host more living labs in the future.

In a new blog, Emily Jennings, Programme Manager for UCL Grand Challenges shares how UCL is reimagining the university’s role in shaping society’s most urgent transitions.
