UCL boasts a rich collective expertise in inequalities research and has a long history of interdisciplinary collaboration to address complex societal challenges. Since 2016, UCL's Grand Challenge of Justice & Equality has sought radical solutions to tackle inequalities. It has funded interdisciplinary teams with over £317,000 and generated over £250,000 in additional funding for research and partnerships on issues including exclusion, displacement, and cultural heritage.
Building on the transformative success of the Grand Challenge of Justice and Equality, the new UCL Grand Challenge of Inequalities is embarking on a five-year programme of activities. The theme aims to bring together colleagues from diverse disciplines across UCL and harness their expertise to benefit both our university community and society, more broadly.
This inaugural workshop will provide participants with the opportunity to network, help shape the direction of this new theme, and learn about the exciting new role of the Pro-Vice-Provost for Inequalities, which will be advertised in May.
Please join us at 09.30 for a networking breakfast. The main session will start at 10:00 and conclude at 12:30.
The event will take place on Wednesday, 21 May, from 09:30 to 12:30 at Elvin Hall, IOE, 20 Bedford Way, London, WC1H 0AL.
Again, please note that this workshop is intended for UCL staff only. Make sure to sign up using your UCL email address.
