We are delighted to invite the UCL community to the first event of UCL's latest Grand Challenge theme: Data-Empowered Societies (DES).
Under the academic leadership of Professors Allison Littlejohn and James Hetherington, we've been hard at work shaping this exciting new theme and planning upcoming activity. This in-person event is for anyone at UCL who wants to leverage data for positive societal impact.
Join us on the afternoon of 23 January 2025 to hear our plans from the theme, connect with colleagues, and play an active role in helping us shape our plans for empowering society with data.
What to Expect:
- Lunch and Networking: Connect with colleagues over lunch.
- Inspiring Talks: Hear from our theme leads about what a data-empowered society could look like.
- Interactive Workshops: Participate in breakout sessions to discuss the theme.
- Funding Call Launch: Be the first to learn about our upcoming funding opportunities.
Get Involved: There’s also an exciting opportunity to deliver a 3-minute talk on your interests or projects related to this theme. If you're interested, please email Max Gillingham (max.gillingham@ucl.ac.uk) with a maximum 150-word summary of what you would like to talk about by Monday 13 January. Note that spaces are limited, so we’ll select a diverse range of presentations to reflect the breadth of interests within our community.
Save the Date and Register: Don’t miss out on this event! Sign up via 'Book Now' above and mark your calendars.
We look forward to seeing you there and hearing your valuable contributions as we shape the theme.
