Project Summary

This training proposal supported two PhD candidates to attend cross-disciplinary training seminars and workshops at the Institute of Public Health ISPUP at the University of Porto and was linked to collaborative research undertaken by Professor Sahra Gibbon in the Anthropology Department at UCL on Biosocial Birth Cohort research. Training is focused on key areas that are central to UCL Grand Challenge of Mental Health and Wellbeing and the efforts to improve health. Ensuring that early career researchers can broaden their disciplinary perspectives and have the chance to learn from an international community of researchers is vital to accelerating appropriate research and health care interventions in the mid and long term by building cross-disciplinary capacity in birth cohort research.
