RECAST addresses the urgent need to centre social justice in climate emergency discourse. While climate change disproportionately affects marginalised communities, dominant scientific narratives often overlook these inequities. Through two interdisciplinary online workshops, the project will build a shared vocabulary and understanding of climate justice, engaging researchers, citizen groups, and stakeholders in collective learning. Insights will be transformed into a short film to communicate the human dimensions of climate change to policymakers, experts, and the public.

Led by Dr Rajendran and Prof Prost, the project draws on expertise in urban justice and participatory health research. RECAST contributes to SDGs 3, 10, 11, and 13 by promoting inclusive, intersectional approaches to climate action. It aims to shift narratives, empower communities, and influence policy through creative, collaborative storytelling.
