This research involves a role-playing learning experience designed to engage participants in systems thinking and leadership, and explore plausible pathways to sustainable futures in Europe to the year 2050. it is also said to be an emtionally engaging experience, particularly due to the use of film, future citizens testimonies and other media.

Digitally-enabled, and delivered through in-person workshops, the research, delivered as a game, teaches ‘transversal’ knowledge, skills and competencies like personal agency, collaborative leadership, cognitive flexibility, the ability to question assumptions and critique ‘business as usual’.

This game will help prepare current and future policy-makers to deal with the interconnected poly-crises facing humanity (climate change, mass extinction, cost-of-living crisis, resource scarcity, etc) particularly at a sub-national level, in cities and regions. It will build the transversal skills, knowledge and comptencies needed to deal with these future events, whilst also providing the technical expertise to understand potential solutions.
