UCL in Latin America
There are more than 700 students from Central and South America currently studying with us.
Academics at UCL have longstanding collaborations with a number of leading Latin American institutions and the Global Engagement Office will continue to prioritise support for this engagement with the region.
A key partner for UCL in supporting collaborations in Latin America is Santander Universities. Our partnership began in 2007 and we continue using a majority of this funding to support staff and students in engaging with the region.
The Santander Universities programmes provide UCL students and staff with many benefits, ranging from student mobility opportunities to awards for research visits to the region.

UCL marked the tenth anniversary of its partnership with Santander Universities with a celebratory event at BaseKX, UCL Innovation and Enterprise’s incubator and enterprise start-up space in King’s Cross, London.
UCL’s Latin America network is open to academic and professional services staff from departments across UCL interested in the region.
Led by Professor Stephen Hart, Pro-Vice-Provost (Latin America), the network meets regularly throughout the year to discuss current and future activity.
