McGill University

The WHO Tuberculosis Individual Patient Data (TB-IPD) platform, currently hosted by UCL, builds upon the foundational work initiated by McGill University. The project was led by Professor Dick Menzies and Assistant Professor Jonathon Campbell, together with Tommy Lan, Mayara Bastos, and Andrea Benedetti. This team has been pivotal in managing and analysing TB IPD datasets, particularly in MDR TB from 2010.

The University of Sydney

The 2021 dataset was curated by the University of Sydney under the leadership of Professor Greg Fox and his team: Dr. Tasnim Hasan, Dr. Ellie Medcalf, Dr. Hannah Morgan, and Dr. Timothy Schlub. In addition to serving as data curators, they also contributed patient data to the integrated dataset.

Stellenbosch University

The Desmond Tutu TB Centre (DTTC) is collaborating with the UCL by advising on paediatric and pregnancy data to complete this platform as a valuable source of information. DTTC is an academic research centre located in the Department of Paediatrics and Child Health, Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences, Cape Town, South Africa. One of its focus’ lies in developing and evaluating child-friendly TB treatment and preventative therapy through clinical trials to allow better access and uptake of TB medicines. The team, led by Professor Anneke Hesseling and Professor Anthony Garcia-Prats, also has extensive experience in conducting large systematic reviews of IPD datasets, which have informed WHO guidelines and policies.
