The Centre for TB Research aims to raise the profile of TB research and provide leadership in this area to create opportunitties to conduct high impact, multi-disciplinary, globally relevant research to contribute to the fight against tuberculosis and provide high quality teaching and training opportunities.
Strategic Priorities
- Undertake high-impact, multidisciplinary research in TB: Enhance applied research in TB prevention and treatment to directly influence global and national health policies.
- Strengthen Links with WHO: To support and build on objectives of the WHO Collaborating Centre to forge stronger operational links with WHO, ensuring that our research and innovations are aligned with global health priorities and can be swiftly translated into practice.
- Data Management and Open Access: Serve as a data curator for WHO, promoting open access to TB data and facilitating global research collaborations.
- Partnerships and allyship with the Global South: Promote and expand partnerships with institutions in the global south, enhancing capacity building and ensuring the relevance of our research to the regions most affected by TB.
- Education and Training: Act as a training hub for postgraduate, doctoral, and postdoctoral researchers in infectious disease epidemiology, increasing the skilled workforce needed to tackle global health issues.
