Projects 

WHO TB-IPD platform 

The TB treatment individual patient data platform (TB-IPD) is a collaborative initiative to support the generation of reliable evidence on the treatment of TB to inform future TB treatment guidelines. It is supported by the WHO Global TB Programme and maintained by UCL. 

The purpose of the TB-IPD is to facilitate pooling of individual patient data provided by researchers, or local or national tuberculosis programmes in the context of TB treatment and facilitate policy update, development and public health research. The platform is Led by Dr Lele Rangaka at IGH and Dr Ruth Goodall at ICTM.

Research to Improve Detection and Treatment of Latent TB Infection (RID-TB)  

Led by Prof Ibrahim Abubakar and Dr Lele Rangaka.  RID-TB is a 5 year project designing studies to improve access to diagnosis and enhance the treatment uptake and completion in individuals with, or at risk of, latent TB infection (LTBI). 

The studies aim to evaluate the accessibility, readability and content of LTBI patient education resources.

UCL-WHO TB Collaboration Centre

UCL are incredibly proud to announce the launch of a WHO TB Collaboration Centre.  WHO collaboration centres are designated by the Director-General and consist of institutions that carry out research or other activities that support the WHO's programmes. An official launch will be taking place in June with further details to be confirmed.
