The workshop forms part of an events series organised jointly with the French Embassy under the auspices of the long-established relationship between the French Embassy's Science and Technology Department and UCL Grand Challenges.

The workshop will be followed by a public evening lecture on "Turbulence, Change and Interruption: Working with Informality in West Africa", delivered by Prof Jane Guyer.

The previous event within the UCL-French Embassy collaborative programme took place in November 2016. Also hosted by the GGI, it focused on the Paris Agreement and its potential to drive forward effective climate governance. A Policy Brief summarising the workshop's discussions is available here: Climate Governance after the Paris Agreement.
