2017 was a year in which trade policy mattered. The Trump Administration backed out of the Trans Pacific Partnership and threatened sweeping tariffs on US steel imports in the name of national security. NAFTA was opened for renegotiation under threat of a US withdrawal. The Belgian Parliament threatened to derail the flagship Free Trade Agreement signed by the EU and Canada. Questions of trade and trade policy hang over the future economic relationship between the EU and the UK.

Come and mark the end of this tumultuous year for trade policy with an expert panel as they discuss and debate the key events of 2017 and what they mean from their unique professional perspectives - and look ahead to what will shape the trade agenda in 2018.

  • Jessica Gladstone, Partner and trade specialist, Clifford Chance
