At GBSH, we take pride in fostering an inclusive environment and want to highlight the diversity of our students. This profile spotlight is on Briana Deahl and her journey at GBSH.

Academic and or Work Background:
I double-majored in physiological sciences and Spanish at UCLA, and went on to work in life sciences consulting after university.
Why did you choose to come and study at GBSH?
I lived in Los Angeles my entire life and always dreamed of one day living in London! When I found the MBA Health program, I felt that it was a much better fit for me than a traditional MBA. I was able to learn all the business content from a regular MBA, but the unique intertwining of health and clinical content made the program more applicable to my background and interests.
First Impressions of UCL?
UCL announced they were chosen as University of the Year the day I arrived in London! I was already excited to be here, but that definitely elevated my feelings. It’s been a true privilege to study at such a renowned university.
First Impressions of UCL East?
UCL East is a beautiful facility, and I love that the MBA program has their own suite with free coffee and snacks! The lecture and seminar suites are ideal for studying and east London is breathtakingly gorgeous!
How are you finding the course so far?
The course is exciting and very fast. My favorite part so far was learning about people management theories, or about finance and accounting. I did not expect to find human resource management so interesting, so it’s been a nice surprise.
What would you say to anyone thinking of applying to study at GBSH?
Definitely do it! The course will change your perspective on business and healthcare, and being in London will change your life.
