UCL GBSH are pleased to offer scholarship funding for our most talented applicants. Find out which scholarship and funding opportunities you are eligible for here.

The Global Business School for Health and UCL are committed to providing our talented students the ability to access targeted scholarship funds to ensure they can meet their potential. Our scholarships place a particular focus on supporting diversity in the healthcare leadership space having regional specific scholarships and those that support women and individuals from low and middle-income countries.

Self-funded candidates are considered for all scholarship schemes where they meet the eligibility criteria, entry requirements and application deadlines.


Global Business School for Health Scholarships

Baxter Healthcare Scholarship 

Summary 

Amount is £38,000 - full tuition fees of £19,300 plus £18,700 for living expenses. 

Baxter Healthcare has partnered with UCL and specifically with the UCL Global Business School for Health (UCL GBSH) to launch the new Baxter Healthcare Scholarship. This is a new fully funded scholarship dedicated for any GBSH Masters level programme. This includes those studying on the MSc Global Healthcare Management, MSc Biotech and Pharmaceutical Management and MSc Digital Health and Entrepreneurship. The aim of this scholarship is to increase opportunities for exceptional candidates in underrepresented groups who historically have been less likely to apply to healthcare programmes. 

Eligibility requirements:

  • You must have been accepted on to one of our three masters level programmes.  
  • You must be a resident of the UK  
  • Identify as Black-African or of Black-Caribbean decent
  • Come from a household in financial need (you will need to complete a financial information supporting form found below) 
  • You will have an interview with a GBSH Scholarship Panel  
  • You will need to submit a personal statement that addresses three questions (please limit answers to 500 words per answer): 
  • Tell us about your career/education/life journey that has led you to apply for one of our Masters level programmes
  • Why should you be awarded this scholarship? 
  • How will completing this MSc programme help you meet your personal ambitions and your ambition to make a difference in health management?

Roche UK MBA Health Scholarship

Summary 

Amount is £65,000 - full tuition fees of £45,000 plus £20,000 for living expenses. 

Roche UK has partnered with the UCL Global Business School for Health (UCL GBSH) to launch a new fully funded UCL MBA Health scholarship. The aim of this scholarship is to increase opportunities for exceptional candidates in underrepresented groups who historically have been less likely to apply to MBA programmes. 

Eligibility requirements

  • You must have been accepted on to the UCL MBA Health programme.  
  • You must be a resident of the UK  
  • Identify as Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic (BAME)* background or as female. 
  • Come from a household in financial need (you will need to complete a financial information supporting form found below) 
  • You will have an interview with a Scholarship Panel  
  • You will need to submit a personal statement that addresses three questions (please limit answers to 500 words per answer): 
  • Tells us about your career/education/life journey that has led you to apply for the MBA Health 
  • Why should you be awarded this scholarship? 
  • How will completing this MBA Health help you meet your personal ambitions and your ambition to make a difference in health management? 

*Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic (BAME) background refers to anyone with non-white heritage and individuals of mixed heritage who self-identify as coming from a BAME background

EMBA Health Future Impact Leaders Scholarships

Summary

Up to £15,000, split as £7,500 over two years.

This scholarship is for exceptional students undertaking the Executive MBA Health​​ programme. For this scholarship, applicants must plan to take the knowledge gained from the EMBA and make a real difference in the field of healthcare management on completion of the programme.

Eligibility requirements

  • You must have been accepted on to the UCL EMBA Health programme.
  • A strong overall application for the EMBA Health with excellence in all of the criteria.
  • You will need to submit a 500-word essay to the EMBA admissions team that articulates how you plan to make a difference in health management upon completion of your degree.

How to apply

To be eligible to apply for this scholarship you must have submitted an application to the EMBA programme for 2024-25. To apply for the scholarship, simply email the following documents to the GBSH scholarships inbox below.

MBA Health Future Impact Leaders Scholarships

Summary

Amount up to £15,000

The GBSH Future Impact Leaders Scholarships are for exceptional students who want to pursue an MBA Health. We are looking for applicants who plan to take the knowledge and skills gained from their period of study and make a real difference in the society of their home country. This scholarship is only for those applying to the MBA Health programme.

Eligibility requirements

  • You must have been accepted on to the MBA Health programme. 
  • A strong overall application for the MBA Health with excellence in all of the criteria.
  • You will need to submit a 500 word essay to the MBA admissions team that articulates how you plan to make a difference in health management upon completion of your degree

MSc Global Healthcare Leaders Scholarship

Summary

Amount Up to £5,000

The Global Healthcare Leaders Scholarship is for students who have applied to our MSc programmes who show exceptional leadership potential in their fields, and who want to make a difference in healthcare.

Eligibility requirements

  • Applicable to students studying one of our MSc programmes - MSc Biotech and Pharmaceutical Management, MSc Global Healthcare Management with routes and MSc Digital Health and Entrepreneurship
  • A strong overall application with excellence in all of the criteria
  • You will need to submit a 500-word essay to the GBSH admissions team that articulates how you will make a difference in healthcare.

Women Healthcare Leaders Scholarship

Summary

Amount up to £5,000

The GBSH Women Healthcare Leaders Scholarships are for female students who demonstrate leadership potential. We want to prepare you to move into a senior management or C-suite role given that the glass ceiling is still very much in place in health and healthcare professions. Research confirms that women are the primary consumers of healthcare as well as the workforce, but they remain underrepresented in leadership roles.

The recipients of these scholarships will also be provided with leadership coaching and high-impact leadership training as part of their scholarship.

Eligibility criteria

  • Applicants must be female, and have applied for either the MBA Health or MSc programmes to be considered for this funding.
  • A strong overall application with excellence in all of the criteria.
  • You will need to submit a 500-word essay to the GBSH admissions team that articulates your leadership potential in healthcare.

UCL East London Scholarship

Summary

The amount is home tuition fees and a £15,700 maintenance payment.

The scholarship supports the ambitions of East Londoners by funding the fees and living costs of eligible Master's programmes at UCL. There are ten scholarships available in 2024/25. Two awards will be ringfenced for eligible final-year UCL undergraduates.

Eligibility requirements

  • Be ordinarily resident in the UK or Ireland and eligible to pay the Home fee rate.
  • Have submitted an admission application for a full-time, part-time or modular/flexible Master's degree at UCL beginning in 2024/25 for one of the specified programmes – eligible programmes list.pdf.
  • Been continually resident for the last five years (since 2019), or have completed GCSE or A-levels, in the following east London boroughs:
  • Hackney
    Newham
    Tower Hamlets
    Waltham Forest

Scholarship recipients are obliged to inform the UCL Student Funding Office immediately of any other funding they are awarded towards their UCL Master’s degree studies, before or subsequent to the UCL East London Scholarship being awarded.

The bursary is awarded on the basis of financial need and upon the recommendation of the Student Funding Office. UCL recognises the following as impactors of financial need: dependent children, disabilities, experience of care, receiving state benefits, forced migration (refugee, asylum seeker, those who have been granted a temporary form of leave as the result of an asylum or human rights application).

You should have submitted an application to an eligible UCL programme (including the submission of references) before applying for this scholarship.

UCL India Excellence Scholarship

Key information
Value: £5,000 (for one year)
Available to: Prospective postgraduate taught students
Selection criteria: Bachelor’s degree GPA and NIRF ranking of current/previous institution of study
Eligible fee status: Overseas
Eligible programmes: All postgraduate taught (excluding distance learning programmes)

Eligibility
Candidates must fulfil all of the following criteria:

  • be eligible to pay the Overseas fee rate;
  • be permanently domiciled in India;
  • have a bachelor’s degree, or be enrolled in the final year of a bachelor’s degree, from an institution listed in the Top 100 of the Government of India’s National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF );
  • have a GPA in their bachelor’s degree that is equivalent to a UK first-class degree;
  • AND have submitted a complete admission application (including references) for a full-time Master's degree at UCL in 2024/25 by Thursday, 29 February 2024.  Please note: Distance-learning options are not eligible for this fund; students must be coming to the UK to attend UCL in person.

How to apply
You need to have submitted a complete admission application to UCL (including the submission of references) in order to be considered for the scholarship.

Applicants will be considered automatically on the basis of their application for admission to their programme of study. There is no separate application form for this scholarship.

UCL Global Masters Scholarship

Key Information

Value: £15,000 (for one year)
Available to: Prospective students
Selection criteria: Financial need
Eligible fee status: Overseas
Eligible programmes: All postgraduate taught
Deadline: 5pm BST, Tuesday 7 May 2024

Eligibility
Candidates must fulfil all of the following criteria:

  • be eligible to pay the Overseas fee rate;
  • come from a lower income background*;
  • AND have submitted a complete admission application (including the submission of references) for a full-time Master's degree at UCL in 2024/25.  Please note: Distance-learning options are not eligible for this fund; students must be coming to the UK to attend UCL in person.

UCL Master Bursary

Value: £10,000 (for one year)
Available to: Prospective students
Selection criteria: Financial need
Eligible fee status: Home (UK and Ireland domicile and Ukrainian students granted Home fee status as part of the Ukraine Scheme)
Eligible programmes: All postgraduate taught
Additional eligibility criteria: Have an annual household income of £42,875 or less
Deadline: 5pm BST, Thursday 20 June 2024

Eligibility
Candidates must fulfil all of the following criteria:

be ordinarily resident in the UK or Ireland and eligible to pay Home fee rate OR be a Ukrainian student granted Home fee status as part of the Ukraine Scheme;
have commenced undergraduate study no earlier than the 2012/13 academic session;
have an annual household income of £42,875 or less;
AND have submitted a complete admission application (including the submission of references) for a full-time or part-time standalone Master's degree* at UCL in 2024/25. The flexible study mode is not eligible.
