International Students at GBSH: Dr Faisal Saud Alsaif from Saudi Arabia
13 March 2024
Meet Dr Faisal Saud Alsaif from Saudi Arabia, an MBA Health student at GBSH and a 27-year-old dental entrepreneur. He is pursuing an MBA at GBSH for its unique healthcare-business blend after founding Maple Clinics.

Background
27 years old
I graduated from King Saud bin Abdulaziz University with a health sciences and dentistry degree. Right after my internship year, I took an apprenticeship at the first eastern cluster of the Ministry of Health for an intended period of 6 months, but in my third month, I took a job as an administrative manager at one of the most successful dental clinics in Saudi Arabia. After 2 months of taking the role with its’ hardships and lack of team morale, I opted to establish Maple Clinics with the support of my loving family and amazing friends, and it’s been running for almost two years.
Why did you choose to come and study at GBSH?
UCL is a world-leading university with unique state-of-the-art facilities and world-renowned teaching staff. With that in mind, I was drawn closer to GBSH upon reading about the MBA Health program, the holy grail of health-integrated business learning, where your business hunger is fed health-related topics, which suits my learning appetite.
First Impressions of UCL?
The campus spread across the entirety of London made me feel accommodated, welcomed, and, most importantly, honoured to be a part of such a historical and monumental university. Anywhere I walk around this vast city, I see UCL’s Emblem, which is calming despite the reality that my phone’s battery has run out and I’m lost on the outskirts of London.
First impressions of UCL East?
Modern, futuristic, and safe. These are the words I uttered when I first saw UCL's eastern campus. It’s equipped with landmarks too, like Queen Elizabeth’s Park and Westfield, along with the close proximity of Stratford Station, which enables you to unleash the tourist within and go sightseeing.
How are you finding the course so far?
It’s challenging but fun and well-structured. Incorporating many case studies and simulations throughout the blocks solidifies the newly learned knowledge.
