Course leads

Professor Shafi Ahmed
Professor Ahmed is a world renowned, multi award winning surgeon, teacher, futurist, innovator and entrepreneur. He is a 3x TEDx speaker and is faculty at Singularity University. He has delivered over 250 keynotes in 30 countries.
After studying medicine at Kings College Hospital Medical School London, he completed his surgical training in London. Ahmed is currently a Laparoscopic Colorectal surgeon specialising in colorectal cancer at The Royal London and St Bartholomew’s Hospitals. His mission is to merge the world of medicine, global education, and virtual and augmented reality to democratise and scale surgical education to make it affordable and accessible to everyone using the power of connectivity to allow equitable surgical care.

Dr Chris Hardesty
Dr Hardesty has served in various healthcare leadership roles around the world, specialising in public-private partnership models to bring safe, effective, economically-viable medical innovations to populations in need.
He is currently the Head of Strategy at NEOM, a Saudi Arabia Vision 2030 Giga Project to design and operate a future-proofed health system. Concurrently, Dr. Hardesty is a Partner at Singapore-based Pureland Venture, supporting early-stage health, bio, and medtech developments. He served in KPMG’s Global Health Centre of Excellence for over a decade, and continues to advise leading academic and think tank organisations on health policy matters. Dr. Hardesty completed his doctoral studies in public health, as well as degrees in business, financing, and technology.
