UCL Advancement 2021-22 review
UCL Vice-President Advancement Angharad Milenkovic thanks the UCL community for their generous support of philanthropic activity in the last year.
The impact of philanthropy at UCL
Philanthropy is powering our work at UCL through support for research projects, academic posts and students:
Engaging our global alumni community
UCL alumni are an integral part of UCL’s community, contributing their valuable time, money and expertise to help support our students, raise our profile globally, and drive our world-leading research. In 2021-22:
Our skills-based alumni mentoring programme connects students with experienced graduates to help them develop the competencies, values, and professional habits which will allow them to thrive in any career. Last year 91 alumni mentored 101 students, 36% of whom were from Widening Participation backgrounds.
All 82 graduation ceremonies in 2022 have had an in person or virtual alumni speaker to congratulate the graduating classes and welcome them to the UCL alumni community, encouraging them to be active participants in the alumni network and to maintain their links to UCL as they embark on the next stage of their lives.
Supported 100+ alumni-led activities from reunions to international club events to professional networking opportunities all designed to help engage UCL’s alumni community of over 350,000 world-wide and encourage their participation as advocates for UCL around the globe.
