Building on more than 160 years of rich relations, the UCL Musubi Global Masters Scholarship will give Japanese students the opportunity to study a one-year Masters programme.
In 2022, UCL launched the Global Scholarships programme to support international students from lower income backgrounds. Our goal is to promote and widen access to study at UCL so that personal or financial circumstances have no impact on talented students' ability to learn with us.
These scholarships provide support for living costs and/or tuition fees for the duration of a degree programme.
From 2026/27, the UCL Musubi Global Masters Scholarship will increase our commitment to Japanese students by funding one place per year and providing vital opportunities for applicants from under-represented backgrounds to pursue their postgraduate degree at UCL. Applications will open in November 2025, when information will be made available on UCL's Scholarships Finder.
With the UCL-Japan relationship dating back to the time of the Chōshū Five, decades-long partnerships between UCL and Japanese companies, and 200 Japanese students currently enrolled, we are delighted to celebrate our historic links and pave the way for more bright minds to experience a UCL education.
