Tim's research focused on the geotemporal dynamics and patterns of consumer behaviours. It explored where and when people shop amongst a network of stores, how habitual these behaviours are, and how they change at the neighbourhood level through time given changing store choices. Underpinning this was an examination of issues such as representation, uncertainty and completeness and how these impact research utilising big consumer data sources.
Tim was a PhD student at Consumer Data Research Centre (CDRC) based at UCL Department of Geography. He has a background in Transport Planning and Modelling data collection and analysis in the UK and Australia, as well as more recently in spatial analysis and software development in the Retail sector. He holds an undergraduate degree from Plymouth University in Geography and an MSc in GISc from Birkbeck University.
