Professor Jennifer Robinson Elected Fellow of the British Academy
29 August 2024
We're proud to announce that Professor Jennifer Robinson has been elected as a Fellow of the British Academy, one of the highest honours in the field of humanities and social sciences in the UK.
This well-deserved recognition marks the importance of Professor Robinson's contributions to human geography, particularly her work on postcolonial critiques of urban studies, comparative urbanism, and global urban studies.
Professor Robinson's research, which spans urban development politics in South Africa, the UK, and broader African contexts, has been instrumental in reshaping the way urban politics are understood, particularly in relation to transnational and state actors. Her election as a Fellow of the British Academy highlights her influence in both academic and policy circles.
Jennifer joins 86 scholars elected to the British Academy in 2024, including 52 UK-based scholars and 30 International Fellows, representing universities across the globe. They will be joining a community of over 1,700 distinguished academics, contributing to a wide array of fields within the humanities and social sciences.
Please join us in extending our congratulations to Professor Robinson on this well-deserved honour.
