Dr Samuel Randalls
Postgraduate Programme Director at UCL Department of Geography
Dr Sam Randalls is an Associate Professor of Geography at UCL with expertise in the intersections of business, finance, environment, and science, particularly as they relate to weather and climate change. His research spans both historical and contemporary contexts, exploring how environmental dynamics shape and are shaped by economic and scientific developments. Sam’s teaching covers a diverse range of topics, from the politics of climate change to business and environmental conservation, providing students with a comprehensive understanding of the critical links between society and the environment.

Postgraduate Programme Deputy Director at UCL Department of Geography
Professor Jon French brings decades of expertise in environmental system modelling to his role as Deputy Director of Postgraduate Programmes in the UCL Department of Geography. His research focuses on the hydrodynamics of coastal, estuarine, and lake systems, as well as climate change impacts, coastal adaptation, and flood risk. A former Head of the Department and Vice-Dean of Research, Jon is deeply invested in translating scientific understanding into practical, policy-relevant applications. His teaching spans various modules, including Geomorphology, Coastal Geohazards, and Environmental Modelling, equipping students with skills to address complex environmental challenges. With over 30 years of consultancy experience and numerous accolades, Jon's work bridges scientific rigour and impactful, real-world solutions.
