Registration open for Bioinformatics Resources and GO workshop: Monday 30 April and Tuesday 1 May 2018
This two-day workshop will boost your understanding of bioinformatics resources and their use. You will also have the opportunity to improve the profile of your research papers in
the world’s leading biological databases, such as NCBIGene, UniProt and
GeneCards, through GO annotation of experimental data. More information can be found on the workshop page and registration page.
New paper in Circulation
We are pleased to announce publication of a new paper "Improving Interpretation of Cardiac Phenotypes and Enhancing Discovery With Expanded Knowledge in the Gene Ontology". This YouTube video summarises our paper and explains how we have created a computational resource to facilitate genetic studies of cardiac physiology by integrating literature curation with attention to an improved and expanded ontological representation of heart processes in the Gene Ontology. Addition of new GO terms describing cardiac muscle cell action potential, electrical coupling, and the transmission of the electrical impulse from the sinoatrial node to the ventricles can help to identify candidate genes associated with arrhythmic disease risk loci.
