Experimental and Translational Medicine

Department of Experimental & Translational Medicine

The Department of Experimental and Translational Medicine sits within the Division of Medicine. It provides a collaborative cross-disciplinary environment for basic scientists, clinicians, and engineers taking innovative approaches to understand the mechanisms of health and illness. Our mission is to identify the means to sustain and promote health and to find new cures for disease.

Obesity & Metabolism

The goal of the Centre for Obesity Research is to understand the pathophysiology of obesity and type 2 diabetes in order to identify new preventative and therapeutic strategies.

Applied Biomedical Engineering Group (ABEG)

Headed by Professor Richard Day, ABEG has a sustained track record in the creation and application of new technology applied to regenerative medicine. This spans invention, development, public engagement, clinical translation and commercialisation.
