Helen is a Lecturer and Research Lead for the Section of Clinical and Health Psychology at the University of Edinburgh. She completed her PhD in the prevention of eating disorders at King’s College London (2013), before moving to the EBPU (2014-15) and then on to the University of Edinburgh (2015-). Her research is focused on body image and disordered eating in children, adolescents and young adults. This involves exploring risk and resilience factors underpinning the development of these difficulties, as well as the design and evaluation of interventions, such as school-based programmes, to support those who are affected.
After completing her PhD, Helen was a Schools and Clinics Research Fellow at the EBPU (2014-15), working on a number of evaluation projects across the team.
