About the Lecture:
This talk will consider the impacts and potential benefits of university development on the re-shaping of the physical and social landscapes of cities. It will introduce research by UCL Urban Laboratory as the context for discussion of UCL¹s future presence in the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park, and the scope for its positive contribution to the creation of new spaces and opportunities in east London.

Clare Melhuish

Principal Research Fellow and Director at UCL Urban Laboratory

Clare Melhuish is Principal Research Fellow and Director of the UCL Urban Laboratory, a cross-faculty platform for promoting urban research, teaching and practice at UCL.  She researches and writes on the design and social impacts of architectural and urban development,  and has a cross-disciplinary background in architectural history and criticism, anthropology, and cultural geography.
