The aim of the lecture is to provide the general public with a better understanding of cryptocurrencies and blockchain technologies. These terms have became very popular but do we know what do they mean?.Hence, I will unfold the following:How bitcoin work? What is the blockchain technology?What are bitcoin? What is their economic inner nature? Is that money or something else? Why their prices are so volatile?Are bitcoin and blockchain useful for the general public? The lecture will be based on the original and frontier research I am conducting at UCL Economics.
