Students
UCL is one of the most international universities in the country, and 12% of our total student population – more than 5,600 students – come from member states of the European Union. Around 1,000 students join us from non-EU European countries. Excluding Asia, this makes our European student cohort bigger than that of international students from the rest of the world put together.
Staff
Of UCL’s more than 14,000 employees, just over a fifth – 3,000 – stem from EU and EEA countries. They contribute enormously to UCL’s success, whether through research, teaching, technical, or leadership roles. Roughly half of UCL academics winning grants from Europe’s most prestigious research council, the ERC, have been EU citizens.
Alumni
More than 35,000 UCL alumni are from Europe (excluding the UK), amounting to ten per cent of UCL’s global alumni community. As, leaders, innovators, and changemakers often found at the top of their field, they are passionate about engaging with the wider UCL community, in Europe and beyond, to further its potential and impact.
