European Social & Political Studies (ESPS) is a challenging, flexible, diverse four-year programme at a university known for academic innovation, open access and the quality of its teaching. Students gain not only from UCL’s world-class teaching system and the insights of its renowned humanities, language and social sciences scholars, but also from the expertise of their European counterparts.

Our Programmes

European Social & Political Studies (ESPS) currently offers two programmes: European Social and Political Studies BA and European Social and Political Studies BA: Dual Degree with Sciences Po. Both programmes combine specialisation in a humanity or social science with a broad base in European history, law, politics and philosophy as well as fluency in a European language.

ESPS attracts applicants from many different countries; the degree produces graduates who go on to undertake research or professional training and take up employment in a range of fields such as journalism, government or business, in the UK and internationally.
